President Raisi appointed the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Seyyed Javad Sadati Nejad as ‘Chairman of National Task Force to Combat Desertification ’.

In implementing Paragraph 1 of Article 2 of the Regulation for the Establishment of the Task Force for Desert Greening by the Honourable Council of Ministers, the President appointed Dr Seyyed Javad Sadati Nejad as 'Chairman of the National Task Force to Combat Desertification'.

In his letter of appointment, Ayatollah Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi has tasked him to have effective cooperation with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and submit an annual report on the measures taken in implementing national and international regulations to the President.

Dr. Raisi has also wished him success carrying out his responsibilities and serving the people of Iran and the ideals of the Islamic System, especially the Statement on the Second Step of the Islamic Revolution.

Dr. Raisi's letter of appointment is as follows:

Dear Dr Seyyed Javad Sadati Nejad,

In implementing Paragraph 1 of Article 2 of the Regulation for the Establishment of the Task Force for Desert Greening by the Honourable Council of Ministers, you are being appointed as 'Chairman of the National Task Force to Combat Desertification'.

You are expected to form a specialised task force and effectively participate in the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification to mitigate the effects of drought at the national and regional levels and report to me at the end of every year.

Of course, all relevant agencies will have the necessary cooperation in this serious matter.

I wish you and the other honourable members of the task force success in carrying out your duties; observe the principles of "Rule of Law", "Justice ", "revolutionary practices ", "public interest ", "Chastity and anti-corruption" and the Code of Ethics of the Government.

I also wish you success carrying out your responsibilities and serving the people of Iran and the ideals of the Islamic System, especially the Statement on the Second Step of the Islamic Revolution.
