IWM as the Low-Cost Strategy to Stabilize Water and Soil Resources and Vegetation Cover
Head of FRWO mentioned that integrated watershed management (IWM) measures as one of the Low-Cost Strategy to control land degradation and stabilize water and soil resources and vegetation cover. He emphasized the effectiveness of IWM projects in reducing flash floods, controlling soil erosion and recharging aquifers, and stated: "the main goal of FRWO is to control flash floods and reduce any future damages in the critical and high-risk areas of flood-prone provinces."

According to FRWO's website, Dr. Masoud Mansour, Deputy Minister and Head of FRWO in the meeting for the “Third International Youth Forum on Soil and Water Conservation (3rd IYFSWC)” held at the Faculty of Natural Resources and Marine Sciences, Tarbiat Modares University –Mazandaran, referring to the great importance and value of soil and water resources that provide living conditions for humans and all other creatures, reiterated: "The preservation of these resources has a high spiritual base and the "soil" as repeated word has been used many times in the Holy Quran."
He referring to the importance of conservation of soil, natural
resources and earth as the bed of life for communities, reminded: "In the hadiths, tree branch breaking means breaking the wings of angels".
