Mohammad Mokhber, the First Vice President in the meeting of the National Disaster Management Organization (NDMO) held in Kerman province at the Jiroft Governor's Office on January 4, 2022, emphasized the development of IWM measures.
According to FRWO’s website, noting that two major problems faced by the country are drought and floods in different regions all seasons, Mokhber stressed the development of Integrated Watershed Management (IWM) measures to solve these problems.
The First Vice President noted: "Flow-through Dam for Flood Control Instruction was also studied by Ministry of Agriculture Jahad (MAJ); so that MAJ considering its vital role concluded that construction of the dam nearly 100 km (62.1 miles) in length, will be led to protection of all downstream cities from floods".
In another part of his speech, referring to the damage to agriculture sector in the region and residential areas, First Vice President said: "Wherever IWM operations are carried out, less damage may result from devastating floods; therefore, these measures should be re-developed more rapidly."
